Beckhoff manufactures the CP6901-1001-0010 as part of its CP Panel PC Systems series. This unit combines an industrial PC, a built-in single-touch display, and all necessary I/O to form a compact human-machine interface for automated machinery and process cells. Installed on the machine front, it provides visualization, recipe handling, and local data logging so that PLCs and motion controllers can be supervised from a sealed operator station. Its panel-based format places the display and computing functions in one enclosure, which suits machines with limited space for separate operator hardware.
The panel draws its logic power from a 24 VDC supply, and the five-pin power connector is rated for 16 A, ensuring headroom for the internal electronics and display backlight. A minimum of 22 V must be present at the plug before the system starts. Front-side sealing reaches IP65, keeping dust and water jets away from the touchscreen, while the rear section remains at IP20 for cabinet ventilation. Mechanical resilience is rated at 5 G for shock and 0.5 G for continuous vibration on mounted equipment. Field wiring up to 1.5 mm² conductors fits the spring terminals, and the 5-pin layout simplifies polarity checks. Single-touch input provides straightforward menu navigation for gloved operators. Two USB 2.0 ports on the back allow short-range service connections, and an RJ45 receptacle links the unit’s USB-E extender to remote peripherals.
The extender moves USB traffic at 480 Mbit/s through a category cable, and both the USB-E and DVI-E links can reach 50 m so the PC can remain in a protected rack. This arrangement lets the display, touchscreen, and attached storage devices stay connected over a longer cabinet-to-panel run. Because the extender carries video and peripheral data, the control computer can be mounted away from splash-prone or vibration-heavy areas while the operator interface remains at the machine. Two downstream USB connections support service devices and removable media while maintaining compatibility with standard USB peripherals.
