Product Description:
The CP6900-0001-0000 is an industrial Panel PC produced by Beckhoff within the CP Panel PC Systems series. Designed for cabinet installation, the unit combines a display, computing hardware, and field interfaces to serve as an operator station and local controller in automated production lines, packaging machines, or process skids. By hosting TwinCAT or other PC-based control software, it connects human interaction with PLC logic, allowing parameter entry, trend viewing, and direct control of machine sequences. This integrated arrangement reduces the need for separate computing and display components within the control system.
As a visualization interface, the front bezel carries a TFT panel that reproduces process graphics with consistent luminance and a single-touch resistive overlay that supports menu navigation while the operator is wearing gloves. Video can be routed up to 50 m through the integrated DVI-I port, enabling flexible panel placement away from the control cabinet. Internal electronics operate from a nominal 24 VDC supply, and the mating power plug is rated for 16 A, keeping inrush currents from SSDs, fans, and USB peripherals within the connector’s capacity. The enclosure has a front protection rating of IP65 and a rear protection rating of IP20. This arrangement shields the touchscreen from dust and washdown spray while permitting convection cooling at the back of the housing.
Field wiring terminates on a five-pole connector, and each conductor may have a cross-sectional area of up to 1.5 mm², supporting the listed current capacity without excessive voltage drop. Two downstream USB sockets comply with the USB 2.0 standard and accommodate legacy keyboards, scanners, or similar peripherals. An upstream USB-E channel transports diagnostic data at 480 Mbit/s over distances of up to 50 m when paired with compatible Beckhoff extenders. The available service connections allow peripheral and diagnostic equipment to remain separate from the field wiring terminals. The extended DVI-I and USB-E links also allow the display to be installed at a practical operating location while the associated control equipment remains inside the cabinet.
