Product Description:
The CP6831-0002-0000 is a panel-mount industrial computer from Beckhoff’s CP Panel PC Systems series. Intended as a human-machine interface, it combines an alphanumeric membrane keyboard with a 12-inch color display and embedded PC electronics so automation software can run directly at the machine. By combining computing hardware, the display, and user input in one enclosure, the unit reduces the need for separate operator panels and gives direct access to visualization, parameter entry, and diagnostic functions on the factory floor. This arrangement also helps keep the control interface close to the process and reduces the amount of separate cabling between a display and a cabinet-mounted computer.
Its display resolution of 800 x 600 pixels supports basic SCADA graphics without placing a heavy load on the onboard processor, and the 12 in diagonal size remains easy to read from standard working distances. A cast-aluminum front panel carries an IP65 rating, so dust and low-pressure water jets cannot reach the screen, keyboard, or front USB ports during washdown procedures. Continuous service is supported in ambient temperatures from 0 to 55 °C, which suits many cabinet and machine locations with limited ventilation. The electronics draw only 19 W at full brightness, reducing heat buildup inside the enclosure and allowing passive convection cooling in many applications.
Rear housing components are protected to IP20, matching typical cabinet interiors, and the logic section operates from a regulated 24 V DC source that fits common industrial power distribution. This low-voltage supply arrangement allows the unit to share control power with other cabinet devices without requiring a separate mains supply at the panel. Two front-accessible ports provide 2 x USB 1.1 Type A connectivity for service tools or data logging media, and a rear DVI-D interface allows the display to be mirrored to a larger monitor when a second screen is needed. A depth of 32 mm and a panel cutout of 416.4 × 364.2 mm help the unit sit flush with enclosure doors, and storage temperatures down to −20 °C protect the hardware during transport and storage.
