Product Description:
Beckhoff produced the CP6706-0001-0050 within the CP Panel PC Systems series. This panel PC serves as a combined operator terminal and control computer for machine automation, letting TwinCAT or similar software run close to the process without a separate cabinet PC. A 7-inch widescreen display and single-finger touch input give operators direct access to status pages and setpoints, while the compact design suits mounting on doors or support arms in control panels.
The computing platform is driven by an Intel Atom E3815, 1.46 GHz single-core processor, providing low-power x86 compatibility for soft-PLC workloads. It is paired with 2 GB DDR3L RAM, which holds the real-time operating system, HMI runtime, and user programs in volatile memory. Application data and system images reside on a 40 GB CFast Card that plugs into the lone CFast slot. Network integration is handled through 2 x 100/1000BASE-T ports so that control, diagnostics, and camera streams can share the same hardware. Four external peripherals such as scanners or maintenance keys connect through 4 x USB 2.0 interfaces, and a remote monitor may be linked through the 1 x DVI output for extended visualization at a maintenance station.
The incoming supply is 24 V DC, allowing direct connection to standard control-cabinet power buses without an auxiliary converter. The enclosure has IP54 protection at the front and IP20 protection at the rear, so splash protection is available for the display while the rear side remains suited for enclosed spaces with controlled air. Graphics are rendered on the 7-inch screen at 800 x 480 pixels, which is adequate for clear symbol-based HMIs. At 1.3 kg, the housing can be supported by light swing arms. The single-finger touch sensor removes mechanical keys, the inactive fTPM 2.0 element leaves security to software, and the Intel i210 maintains low-latency fieldbus bridges.
