The CP6702 is a compact panel PC produced by Beckhoff within the CP Panel PC Systems series. Designed as an operator interface and controller, this unit combines an industrial touchscreen with an embedded computer to run TwinCAT or other automation software directly at the machine level. By integrating visualization, data processing, and network connectivity, it removes the need for separate HMIs and IPCs and simplifies cabinet layouts for manufacturing cells, packaging lines, and material-handling stations. This arrangement also shortens signal paths between the display and control hardware, which helps keep installation clean and reduces the number of separate devices mounted around the machine.
All core interfaces are concentrated on the rear panel. The device operates from a nominal supply of 24 VDC, so it can be wired directly to typical control-cabinet power buses. Video output is provided through a single 1 x DVI-I port, while four USB sockets follow the USB 2.0 standard for service devices or data-logging peripherals. Two RJ45 connectors support Gigabit networking over 10/100/1000BASE-T, enabling fast exchange with PLCs and SCADA hosts. A single CFast slot accommodates solid-state storage, and fanless cooling keeps internal temperatures stable because the thermal design is passive and has no rotating parts. The aluminum front is sealed to IP65, allowing surface mounting on enclosures exposed to dust or washdown spray.
Environmental limits support continuous operation on the plant floor. Rear electronics carry a protection rating of IP20, reflecting their installation inside a cabinet, while the assembly tolerates ambient humidity up to 95 percent without condensation. During transport or service shocks, the housing withstands acceleration peaks of 5 G for 30 ms, and random vibration is limited to 0.5 G with a displacement amplitude of 0.035 mm. The absence of fans eliminates dust-entrainment paths and prevents imbalance forces, which helps the unit maintain stable operation in areas with frequent motion or machine vibration.
