Product Description:
The CP6606-1001-0020 is a compact Panel PC manufactured by Beckhoff and delivered within the CP Panel PC Systems series. It combines an integrated touchscreen, processor, and communication interfaces to act as a local HMI and control node in distributed automation cells, providing visualization and basic logic execution close to the machinery it supervises.
The display measures 7 in., giving operators a small yet readable surface for process graphics and parameter entry. An ARM processor handles runtime tasks while maintaining low power dissipation, which matches the unit’s control-cabinet mounting requirements. The electronics draw from a single 24 VDC supply, so the PC can share the same power rail as sensors and compact I/O modules. Environmental segregation is addressed by a Front IP54 / Rear IP20 housing; the front face tolerates dusty or splash-prone production areas, whereas the rear remains inside the cabinet. For network traffic the Ethernet controller negotiates at 10/100 Mbit/s, supporting PLC links, SCADA reporting, and firmware loading. Two USB connectors following the 2.0 specification allow local data logging, service keyboards, or WLAN adapters without additional hubs.
Copper network runs can extend up to 100 m between switches, so the panel may mount directly on equipment while the main switch sits in a nearby MCC. Legacy device support is provided by 1 x RS232, useful for barcode readers or simple drives that lack fieldbus options. Control wiring enters through a five-pin power plug; the positive lead can be up to 1.5 mm² to limit voltage drop, and Beckhoff recommends a 4 mm² ground conductor for protective bonding. The connector is rated at 16 A, well above the panel’s normal load, giving headroom for inrush and temperature variation while ensuring stable operation during long production shifts.
