The CP6601-0001-0000 is a compact panel-mounted industrial PC manufactured by Beckhoff within the CP Panel PC Systems series. Designed as an HMI and control node, the unit combines a touch display, embedded processor, and field interfaces so that PLC logic, visualization, and network communication can be executed in a single enclosure on the machine front. By integrating processing, storage, and I/O in a sealed front, it supports decentralized automation where cabinet space and on-site interaction are limited.
The computing core uses an Intel IXP420 XScale processor that runs at 533 MHz, which is adequate for deterministic visualization tasks and lightweight control routines. System memory consists of 128 MB of SDRAM, which buffers the operating system and runtime variables, while a soldered 32 MB flash module stores user programs without rotating media. For operator interaction, the unit has a 12 in TFT display, giving enough screen area for multi-page graphics without occupying a large panel space. Two integrated Ethernet controllers connect through 2 x RJ45, 10/100 Mbit/s sockets, allowing separation of machine and plant networks or support for redundant topologies. Additional peripherals can be connected through two USB Type-A ports, and legacy devices are addressed by a 9-pin RS-232 serial channel.
Mechanical integration is simplified by a panel cutout of 263 × 318 mm and an installation depth of 57 mm, so the housing projects minimally into the cabinet. The overall size of 330 × 275 × 58 mm accommodates all electronics without external modules. The aluminum front has a protection rating of IP65 Front / IP20 Rear, allowing washdown on the display side while leaving the rear open for ventilation inside the enclosure. Operation is specified between 0 to 55 °C, with safe storage down to −20 °C and up to 65 °C. A regulated input of 24 VDC (20.4–28.8 VDC) powers the processor, display backlight, and interfaces directly from a control-cabinet power bus, eliminating the need for separate adapters.
