The CP6531-0002 is a panel PC manufactured by Beckhoff and delivered as part of the CP Panel PC Systems series. It integrates an industrial motherboard, display, and operator controls into a single housing so the unit can serve as both the visualization terminal and the supervisory controller inside an automation cell. By hosting standard Windows-based control software, the computer links field devices to the plant network while the front panel provides direct access for machine operators.
The screen uses a 4:3 aspect ratio with a native resolution of 800 × 600 pixels on a 12 in diagonal display. Interaction is possible through a touchpad and an alphanumeric keyboard, allowing data entry without external peripherals. A sealed front panel carries a protection rating of IP65, guarding the display, keys, and touch device against dust and low-pressure water jets during washdown. Internally, components are arranged in a 7-slot ATX housing; the ATX backplane and seven free card slots allow installation of motion controllers, fieldbus adapters, or additional I/O boards while keeping everything on the same motherboard form factor. The chassis measures 430.4 mm in width and only 32 mm in depth, so the computer fits into shallow control cabinet doors without protruding into the enclosure.
The unit operates between 0 °C and a peak of 55 °C, and fan-assisted or passive airflow must keep internal card temperatures within that range. The system endures up to 95% RH non-condensing humidity, so it can handle most production-area moisture loads. The rear ventilation openings are rated IP20, making the back of the unit suitable for enclosed-cabinet installation rather than exposed mounting. Overall height is 378.2 mm, leaving adequate clearance for wiring bends above and below the cutout. This layout supports motion, measurement, or data-logging tasks without changing the HMI front end.
