Beckhoff’s CP6232-0002-0060 belongs to the CP Panel PC Systems series and functions as a front-mounted operator terminal that combines a TFT display with an embedded controller for machine-level HMI tasks. By hosting the control software next to the process, this Panel PC reduces cabinet wiring and shortens signal latency. It also offers direct visualization for PLC supervision and data entry on the factory floor.
The unit presents information on a 15-inch screen driven at 1024 x 768 resolution, giving a 4:3 aspect ratio that fits legacy SCADA layouts without scaling artifacts. Two independent Ethernet interfaces, 1 x 10/100BASE-T, 1 x 100/1000BASE-T, separate plant-floor traffic from higher-level networks, allowing simultaneous real-time control and enterprise communication. Local peripherals connect through 4 x USB 2.0 sockets, and the bandwidth supports flash drives, barcode readers, or external keyboards. A touchpad and alphanumeric keyboard are integrated for on-panel input, while legacy controllers can still exchange data through the built-in RS232 port. System power is supplied at 24 V DC, so the PC can share the same low-voltage rail used by standard field sensors, simplifying power distribution.
The enclosure has a rating of front IP65, rear IP20, sealing the display against dust and water jets while allowing convection cooling inside the enclosure. Installation depth is limited to 59 mm, which leaves clearance in shallow control desks and swing arms. During transport or machine vibration, internal assemblies withstand shocks up to 5 G, helping maintain reliable operation near presses or packaging machinery. For second-station visualizations, the Panel PC mirrors its graphics through a 1 x DVI-I connector, enabling remote monitors without additional converters.
