Product Description:
The CP3718-1600-0020 is a panel PC manufactured by Beckhoff within the CP Panel PC Systems series. Designed as a human-machine interface and embedded controller, the unit combines an industrial touch display, integrated computing hardware, and real-time fieldbus connectivity so visualization, data logging, and motion tasks can run from a single enclosure. When installed on a production line, the device links EtherCAT I/O, drives, and supervisory networks. Operators can monitor status, acknowledge alarms, and issue commands directly at the point of use, reducing the need to access a separate control station.
The front of the unit carries an 18.5-inch widescreen that renders at 1366 × 768 pixels. A projected-capacitive multi-finger touch layer accepts simultaneous gestures for navigation and setpoint entry. A 24 V DC supply powers the electronics, backlight, and touch controller, minimizing cabinet hardware because no separate power rail is needed. One Gigabit interface driven by an Intel i210 chipset supports 100/1000 Mbit/s signaling across as much as 100 meters of CAT5e cable. An additional EtherCAT port provides deterministic cycle times of 1 ms or less for servo axes and safety modules. The front panel provides IP65 protection, preventing dust and low-pressure water jets from compromising the electronics during normal industrial use.
The housing mounts on a 48 mm support tube and can rotate through ±165 degrees, allowing the screen to align with workstations positioned along a production cell. The chassis withstands mechanical shocks of 5 G for 30 ms, helping it tolerate routine impacts from nearby presses or material loaders. Security is supported by an onboard fTPM 2.0 module, which stores cryptographic keys for encrypted startup processes or protected network credentials. At 7.9 kg, the assembly can be positioned during installation while retaining enough mass to remain stable during touch input. The touch controller maintains full sensitivity throughout the swivel range, allowing the interface to remain responsive at different viewing angles and operating positions.
