Product Description:
The CP3718-0020 is a panel PC manufactured by Beckhoff within the CP Panel PC Systems series. Designed for direct machine integration, the unit combines processing, visualization, and control in a single housing, serving as the human-machine interface on automated lines and cells. It mounts on tubular support arms and presents operators with a display for parameter entry, status viewing, and alarm acknowledgment.
Electrical power is supplied through a 24 V DC connection, and the internal circuitry is protected by a front bezel and rear cover that achieve an IP65 rating against dust and water jets. Network connectivity is handled by a single port driven by the Intel i210 Ethernet controller. The port terminates in an RJ45 push-pull plug for toolless service and supports data rates of 100/1000 Mbit/s over standard copper cabling up to 100 m. This interface allows fast exchange of fieldbus and SCADA traffic while retaining multicast performance for EtherCAT or PROFINET bridges. During transport and operation, the system withstands mechanical shocks of up to 5 G, limiting the need for additional damping elements inside articulated support-arm installations.
The enclosure is milled from aluminum and has an electrically insulating surface that prevents stray currents from neighboring equipment from reaching the electronics. It fastens to a support-arm system with a mounting tube measuring 48 mm in diameter. An integrated joint permits angular adjustment of ±165°, allowing the operator to align the display without tools. A firmware-based trusted platform module identified as fTPM 2.0 protects cryptographic keys used for secure boot and station authentication. The multi-finger projected-capacitive touchscreen supports pinch, zoom, and gesture commands even when operators wear thin gloves. Despite its aluminum housing, the panel weighs only 7.9 kg, minimizing moment loads on long support tubes and simplifying maintenance access.
