Product Description:
The CP3716-0020 is a panel-mount industrial PC produced by Beckhoff within the CP Panel PC Systems series. Designed as both a human-machine interface and a deterministic control platform, the unit combines a 15.6-inch multi-touch display with integrated processing and networking so it can run TwinCAT or other IEC 61131-3 software directly at the machine. By embedding the controller in the display, the unit reduces panel wiring and can operate EtherCAT I/O stations without a separate rack-mount computer.
Networking performance supports real-time motion tasks. An onboard Intel i210 controller supplies two ports that automatically negotiate at 100/1000 Mbit/s, and the network connection can extend up to 100 m with standard Cat 6 cabling. For distributed servo control, the EtherCAT master executes cycles in ≤1 ms, allowing synchronized drive updates. The system draws 24 VDC from a control cabinet supply, while internal conversion powers the Intel processor, DRAM system memory, and fanless logic. An IP65-rated aluminum front seals the electronics against dust and low-pressure water jets, allowing the touchscreen to remain operable in washdown areas. Data persistence is handled by CFast media, which tolerates vibration better than rotating drives. The projected-capacitive multi-touch panel supports simultaneous finger gestures for direct interaction with machine controls and visualization software.
The integrated enabled fTPM 2.0 function supports cryptographic key storage for encrypted OPC UA or MQTT connections without requiring an external module. Panel mounting relies on a stainless-steel arm system that clamps to a 48 mm tube, allowing the screen to pivot into a suitable viewing position. During transport or operation, the electronics withstand 5 G shock loads and remain functional at relative humidity levels up to 95%. The unit has a total mass of 6.8 kg, making it suitable for installation on a support arm while providing stability during touchscreen use. Its integrated display, processing resources, network interfaces, and solid-state storage support machine control and visualization in packaging, filling, and assembly lines. The sealed front also permits installation in production areas where dust or occasional water exposure could affect an unprotected display.
