Product Description:
The CP3712-0020 is a Panel PC from Beckhoff that belongs to the CP Panel PC Systems series. This fanless operator station combines a display, touchscreen, embedded controller, and fieldbus connectivity in one front-mounted unit. Its integrated design supports visualization, parameter entry, and PLC execution within a single industrial HMI node. The lack of a cooling fan also reduces operating noise and removes a moving component that would otherwise require airflow through the enclosure.
The unit presents a 12 in TFT with a native resolution of 800 × 600 pixels. Its 4:3 aspect ratio accommodates traditional SCADA graphics without requiring widescreen formatting. Multi-finger capacitive touch input enables gesture control through work gloves, providing a practical interface for industrial operating environments. The aluminum housing dissipates internal heat and gives the front panel an IP65 protection rating, guarding it against dust and water jets. The panel tolerates mechanical shocks of up to 5 G, which supports installation on moving gantries or equipment exposed to vibration. It weighs 5.5 kg, making it suitable for compatible articulated arm mounts, and a 12-pin round plug provides a secure power connection. The computer operates from a nominal 24 V DC supply, which is appropriate for low-voltage industrial control systems.
Networking is handled by the Intel i210 Gigabit controller, which provides one RJ45 port for Ethernet communication. The interface exchanges process data at up to 1000 Mbit/s over cable runs as long as 100 m. This connection supports communication with control cabinets and other networked automation equipment. Four available Mini-PCIe slots accept additional fieldbus or serial cards when the application requires more connectivity. A separate expansion feed rated at 24 VDC powers these optional cards without placing their full electrical load on the base board. Hardware-level credential storage is provided by the fTPM 2.0 module, which protects cryptographic keys, passwords, and certificates used for runtime authentication. This security hardware retains protected credentials independently of ordinary application storage.
