Product Description:
Beckhoff's CP3212-0010 is a multi touch panel PC designed with memory features, flexible I/O, and robust processing features. This makes it compatible with compact system architectures and able to meet strict data transfer needs15.
The two main processors that come with CP3212-0010 panel PC are the Freescale MPC8245 at 330 MHz with an MPC603e core and the IBM PowerPC 750FX at 733 MHz For the Freescale version, memory support goes up to 256 MB SDRAM with ECC. For the IBM version, it goes up to 512 MB DDR SDRAM with ECC. There is 8 MB of soldered flash memory and 128 KB of non-volatile SRAM with a real-time clock in both versions. The PC has four GPIOs, JTAG, and two customizable serial ports that can work with either RS232 or RS485 standards. It also has 46 signals on the back that can be accessed via PMC and support asynchronous EIA-232 and simplified synchronous EIA-422/485. The Freescale model has one 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX autosensing port for Ethernet access, while the IBM model has two ports (10/100/1000 Base-T and 10/100 Base-T). The PC can work in temperatures between -40°C and +85°C and allows conduction cooling. Normal power use for the Freescale model is 6.5 W and normal power use for the IBM model is 11 W.
Error correction (ECC) is built into both SDRAM and DDR SDRAM, and the CP3212-0010 also allows rear I/O expansion through PMC. The PC has 128 KB of non-volatile SRAM, and an 8 MB attached flash memory. It also has a real-time clock. These features make it possible for the system to reliably store data and keep accurate time records. The PC is made to meet strict technical standards and work reliably across a wide range of temperatures.
Frequently Asked Questions about CP3212-0010:
Q: Why does CP3212-0010 use ECC memory?
A: ECC memory in CP3212-0010 corrects single-bit errors that can occur during operation. This supports data integrity and system reliability.
Q: Does CP3212-0010 support both RS232 and RS485?
A: CP3212-0010 features two serial ports that are configurable for either RS232 or RS485. This provides flexible connectivity for different serial devices.
Q: How does CP3212-0010 achieve conduction cooling?
A: CP3212-0010 uses a conduction-cooled design that transfers heat directly to the chassis. This enables operation in wide temperature ranges.
Q: Why does CP3212-0010 offer dual processor options?
A: CP3212-0010 includes Freescale and IBM PowerPC processors that allow users to select performance levels. This supports varied application requirements.
Q: Do CP3212-0010 rear I/Os support JTAG?
A: The rear I/O of CP3212-0010 includes JTAG that enables debugging and boundary scan testing. This supports system diagnostics and development.
