The CP2912-0000 is a 12-inch Panel PC manufactured by Beckhoff within the CP Panel PC Systems series. As an industrial HMI, it combines display, touch interface, and control electronics so a PLC or motion controller can be operated directly on the machine front. This arrangement lets operators view process data, acknowledge alarms, and enter commands from the same front-mounted unit without requiring a separate display and input station.
The aluminum front carries an ingress protection of IP65, allowing the screen to withstand dust and low-pressure water jets, while the steel rear housing is rated at IP20 for cabinet-interior mounting. A regulated supply of 24 VDC feeds the unit through a 5-pin voltage socket, and this low-voltage design simplifies power distribution inside control panels. User input relies on a multi-finger touch (PCT) sensor, so simultaneous gestures such as zoom or rotate can be recognized by the operating system. Video arrives over 1 × DVI-Extended, and signals can travel up to 50 m when twisted-pair extenders are used. For service peripherals, a USB Type-B port is provided on the back, while two Type-A ports are available on the front. Extended USB connectivity is possible through 1 × RJ45 that carries high-speed traffic at 480 Mbit/s and supports remote devices over extended cable runs from the panel. Despite the metal housing, overall weight is only 3.0 kg, which eases VESA or swing-arm installation.
Field wiring lands on spring terminals that accept conductors up to 1.5 mm², enabling the same cable sizes used for other 24 V control products. The AC side of the plant supply can be fused to 16 A, matching the panel’s power plug rating and helping prevent nuisance trips during inrush. A USB 2.0 maintenance lead may run 5 m without hubs for quick program download, and identical transmission limits apply to the standard Type-B service port. The front USB connections can remain available for accessories while the rear service interface is used for local access.
