Product Description:
Beckhoff manufactures the CP2712-1002-0000 operator terminal as part of the CP Panel PC Systems series. The unit is a panel-mount industrial PC that merges a touchscreen, display, and control electronics into one sealed assembly. Within automated machinery it acts as a human-machine interface, executing visualization tasks, receiving operator input, and relaying data to the control network without the need for a separate cabinet computer. Its integrated design reduces wiring, saves panel space, and simplifies maintenance schedules for production equipment.
The front panel carries a 12 in TFT screen with a native aspect ratio of 4:3, giving operators a square workspace suited to classic SCADA layouts. Pixel count is 800 x 600, so graphics engines should be configured for SVGA output to avoid scaling artifacts. A Multi-Finger projected-capacitive sensor layer enables simultaneous gestures for zooming and rotating objects during setup. Internal electronics draw from a single 24 VDC source, allowing the device to share low-voltage power with field I/O modules. The enclosure depth of 71 mm permits installation in shallow operator consoles while still leaving room for rear airflow and cable bends.
Mechanical integration is simplified by the aluminum front bezel that meets IP65 when mounted, keeping dust and water jets away from the display, whereas the rear housing carries an IP20 rating suitable for protected cabinet interiors. Panel builders cut an opening of 295 mm by 247.5 mm and secure the unit behind a 306 mm-wide by 258.5 mm-high faceplate, ensuring a clean transition between machine door and viewing surface. A 3.5-inch motherboard format is used inside, leaving space for two CFast slots that support swappable flash storage without removing the PC from service.
