Beckhoff’s CB6464-0002 belongs to the CB Modular Motherboards series and serves as the core computing element for embedded PC-based controllers used in packaging lines, robotics cells, and process equipment. The board integrates directly into DIN-rail or panel-mount IPC designs, providing deterministic EtherCAT access and task switching typical of Beckhoff automation platforms. Its AMI Aptio V BIOS provides access to watchdog, GPIO, and boot order settings needed for real-time operation while maintaining compatibility with long-life Linux or Windows installations.
At only 120 x 120 mm, the motherboard fits compact fanless housings yet still exposes 4 x Gigabit Ethernet ports at the front panel for segmented control-level and IT-level networking. A regulated 24 V ±5% input allows direct connection to common machine power rails, eliminating intermediate converters. Four SuperSpeed sockets labeled 4 x USB 3.0 support barcode imagers, storage media, or service laptops, and each port can supply 900 mA continuously. System memory scales up to 32 GB through two SO-DIMM260 slots populated with DDR4-2133 modules, providing sufficient buffer space for motion libraries and vision preprocessing. The onboard Intel i219 plus three i210 controllers handle real-time traffic prioritization without consuming processor cores.
For mass storage and fieldbus cards, the board carries 2 x M.2 Key B (2280) links to PCIe or SATA. Video exits at the front through 2 x DisplayPort++ connectors that can also adapt to HDMI, and the interface supports 4096 x 2304 @ 60 Hz over DisplayPort and 2560 x 1600 at 60 Hz on HDMI. The platform accepts Intel Core i3/i5/i7, Pentium, Celeron processors, and the 1.2 V memory rail reduces heat in sealed enclosures. Platform settings reside in the AMI Aptio V image, and Intel’s Sunrise Point chipset integrates the buses for synchronized Windows, TwinCAT, or Linux workloads.
