Product Description:
The CB4053-0006 is a compact modular motherboard produced by Beckhoff within the CB Modular Motherboards series. Designed as the core computing layer for embedded control panels and DIN-rail IPCs, the board hosts a low-power CPU, multiple fieldbus interfaces, and multimedia outputs so machine builders can integrate PC functionality directly into automation equipment. It serves as the processing hub that executes PLC runtimes, visualization tasks, and data logging while interfacing with drives, sensors, and higher-level networks through its onboard connectors.
At its center, the board carries an Intel Atom Z530 running at 1.6 GHz; this single-core processor balances deterministic control requirements with low thermal dissipation. The CPU links to the Intel SCH US15W chipset, which also embeds the graphics controller so no external GPU is required. A single SO-DIMM socket accepts up to 2 GB of system memory, and the data bus supports DDR2-533 to match the memory controller clock. These elements allow soft PLC cycles, HMI rendering, and protocol stacks to share resources without saturating the front-side bus. Additional features include HDA 7.1 audio support, an 18/24-bit LVDS channel, and a 16-bit ISA expansion interface for legacy modules.
The hardware platform uses a compact 96 x 90 mm footprint, which eases mounting beside I/O slices or inside operator panels. For field connectivity, the Gigabit controller offers 10/100/1000 Base-T networking, while two isolated UARTs provide two COM links to drives or barcode scanners. High-speed peripherals attach through 8 x USB 2.0 ports, and four PCI bus master slots permit mezzanine cards to share the 32-bit interface. All circuits are powered from a single 5 V backplane rail, simplifying power distribution and minimizing heat generation in fanless enclosures.
