Product Description:
The CB3060-0011 modular motherboard is produced by Beckhoff as part of the CB Modular Motherboards series. Designed for control cabinets and panel PCs, the board acts as the main computing platform for motion, I/O, and visualization tasks in industrial automation systems. Its footprint and connector layout allow machine builders to embed PC-based control logic directly alongside drives, sensors, and network modules.
At the core of the board is the Intel QM87 PCH chipset, which supplies PCI Express lanes, SATA controllers, and legacy interfaces needed for automation peripherals. Two memory sockets accept DDR3L-1600 modules operating in dual-channel mode, and each slot follows the 2 x SO-DIMM204 layout for low-profile installation. Ethernet communication is handled by two RJ45 jacks that negotiate at 10/100/1000BASE-T, giving the controller real-time access to fieldbus gateways or supervisory networks. System expansion relies on eleven USB root ports; the presence of 11 USB channels permits simultaneous attachment of HMI touchscreens, storage keys, and service adapters. Three 4-pin headers are available for PWM-regulated fan assemblies to maintain temperature margins in sealed enclosures.
The memory configuration can scale to a peak of 16 GB, providing sufficient buffer space for multitasking IEC 61131 runtimes and database logging. Mass storage uses four SATA links; two of those lanes support 6 Gb/s drives, and the remaining interfaces cooperate with the controller to offer 0/1/5/10 RAID redundancy. These 4 SATA ports, paired with eight GPIO lines and four RS-232 channels, permit the motherboard to manage sensors, actuators, and legacy serial devices without extra cards. Mechanical integration follows the 3.5-inch form factor and a board outline of 102 × 147 mm, so the PCB slides into existing carrier plates and DIN-rail frames used throughout Beckhoff embedded platforms.
