Product Description:
The CB3060-0005 modular motherboard is produced by Beckhoff within the CB Modular Motherboards series. It is designed as the central computing element in industrial PCs that manage motion control, data acquisition, and networked supervision on automated lines. By combining Intel architecture with a field-proven form factor, the board lets machine builders embed deterministic control and visualization directly inside compact control cabinets without adding a full-size desktop mainboard.
The board uses a footprint of 102 × 147 mm and a single backplane rail of 5 V ±5%, which helps simplify enclosure layout. Core logic is consolidated in the Intel QM87 PCH, which integrates SATA, USB, and PCIe switching so no auxiliary chips are needed. Two independent display pipelines leave the board through 2 × DVI/HDMI connectors, while a separate CRT header supports one analog monitor for legacy HMI panels. Networking is handled by 2 × 10/100/1000Base-T ports that support redundant Gigabit links to supervisory SCADA or EtherCAT gateways. An AMI Aptio BIOS provides UEFI services, and the integrated codec outputs HDA 5.1 audio for alarm or instructional playback.
The board accepts up to 16 GB of system memory through 2 × SO-DIMM204 slots. Both sockets operate with low-voltage DDR3L-1600 to contain heat during 24/7 duty cycles. Storage media connect over 4 SATA channels, allowing mirrored SSDs for reliability or large rotating drives for data logging. One Mini-PCI slot accommodates WLAN, CAN, or fieldbus cards, and the PCIe interface can be wired as four ×1 lanes or one ×4 lane for high-bandwidth modules. Four COM headers offer RS-232 or RS-485 conversion for legacy devices. For peripheral attachment on the factory floor, the board provides 11 × USB 2.0 ports that support hubs, scanners, or UPS interfaces without saturating the chipset.
