Product Description:
The CB3056-0001 is a modular motherboard manufactured by Beckhoff and supplied within the CB Modular Motherboards series. It serves as the core of compact industrial PCs, providing processor, memory, and I/O interfaces for machine-level control tasks. By combining standard x86 architecture with extended industrial connectors, the board supports deterministic automation software while fitting into confined control cabinet spaces.
The board area measures 102 x 147 mm, so it can be mounted on DIN-rail carrier frames without overhanging neighboring modules. All logic circuits are powered from a single 5 V ±5% backplane supply, which simplifies power distribution in multilayer systems. Two memory sockets arranged as 2 x SO-DIMM204 accept up to 16 GByte of dual-channel RAM, and the modules may use DDR3-1066/1333/1600 data rates to match real-time workload and thermal limits. Two Gigabit Ethernet controllers expose separate copper links for fieldbus or plant networks, and auto-negotiation allows mixed legacy segments and gigabit backbones. Four SATA connectors provide mass-storage access, and two of those lanes operate at 6 Gb/s for solid-state drives. USB 2.0 headers support service panels, scanners, and dongles, while four RS-232/422/485 serial channels remain available for legacy sensors. A Mini-PCI Type III slot accepts wireless or CAN modules when additional field communication is required.
The high-speed expansion path is a PCI Express stack that can be switched between 4 x1 or 1 x4, allowing bandwidth to be allocated according to the installed expansion modules. For peripheral connections, the platform offers 11 USB 2.0 ports with 500 mA load capability on each channel. Processor options reach up to the quad-core Core i7-2710QE, while mid-range Core i5-2510E and entry Celeron B810 versions are also supported. Network throughput follows 10/100/1000Base-T signaling, and four asynchronous serial ports allow direct drive or HMI integration without external adapters.
