The CB3054-0001 motherboard is produced by Beckhoff as part of the CB Modular Motherboards series. Designed for embedded controllers that drive production lines, it serves as the central processing baseboard within panel PCs, DIN-rail computers, and decentralized I/O stations. By concentrating CPU, memory, and fieldbus connectivity on a compact card, it provides deterministic control resources for PLC tasks, motion sequences, and real-time data acquisition in industrial automation environments.
It accepts processors in the mPGA479M socket, which supports Intel mobile CPUs with moderate thermal output. Two SO-DIMM204 slots accommodate up to 8 GB of RAM, and the board supports the DDR3-1066 standard so memory timing stays aligned with the chipset clock. Storage devices attach to 4 x SATA, 3 Gb/s channels, and the board supports RAID 0/1/5/10 through the southbridge logic. For deterministic networking, the dual-port controller exposes 2 x 10/100/1000Base-T interfaces that can be bonded for redundancy or separated for machine and enterprise traffic. A Mini-PCI Type III header plus the selectable 4 × PCIe ×1 or 1 × PCIe ×4 topology allow add-on cards such as fieldbus masters or vision accelerators without occupying external space.
The board uses the AWARD 6.10 BIOS, which supports watchdog functions, secure boot, and automatic restart after brownouts. Ten downstream ports supplied over 10 x USB 2.0 provide operator-panel, camera, or dongle attachment, while legacy peripherals connect through PS/2 keyboard and mouse headers and serial ports labeled COM1 to COM4. Graphics are handled by an integrated controller offering 2 x DVI/HDMI outputs for mirrored or extended HMI displays. Audio feedback for alarms uses the HDA 5.1 codec. The board footprint is 102 x 147 mm, matching the Beckhoff CFast carrier and fitting directly into 3.5-inch chassis.
