Product Description:
The CB Modular Motherboards series from Beckhoff includes the industrial computer board CB3053-0007. As a modular motherboard, the unit provides a compact x86 platform that can be embedded into control cabinets and panel PCs where deterministic motion, data collection, and human-machine interfaces need a dedicated computing layer. It serves as the central processing element that links fieldbus interfaces and drive controllers with higher-level networks in automated production lines. The board can therefore support machine control software alongside visualization and communication functions in a single installation.
Processing tasks are handled by the Intel Atom Z510 CPU running at 1.1 GHz, together with the Intel SCH US15W chipset, which integrates graphics and I/O control to reduce component count. The processor uses a 512 KB L2 cache for temporary data and instruction buffering during routine control operations. One DDR2 memory slot in the 1 x SO-DIMM200 format accepts modules up to 2 GB, giving the board working memory for the operating system, runtime services, and application data. Its board area of 102 mm × 147 mm helps it fit compact housings and leaves room for adjacent power and interface hardware.
Field connectivity is provided by two Gigabit Ethernet controllers with two RJ-45 connectors, and each port can transfer data at up to 1000 Mbit/s for plant communication and networked control tasks. The USB subsystem offers 8 USB ports, allowing connection of storage devices, operator peripherals, and service tools without external hubs. The board is powered directly from 24 VDC, which matches the control voltage commonly used in industrial cabinets. Operation is permitted at ambient temperatures up to 60 °C, so the board can be installed near other heat-generating equipment when cabinet airflow is managed properly.
