Product Description:
The CB3051-0008 is a compact industrial motherboard produced by Beckhoff within the CB Modular Motherboards series. Designed as the processing core for panel PCs, DIN-rail controllers, and other embedded automation equipment, the board combines x86 computing resources with field interfaces in a small footprint. It is intended to coordinate motion, data acquisition, and HMI tasks, allowing PC-based control functions to be integrated directly into decentralized machine nodes.
At its heart, the board uses the 3.5-inch form factor, so its mounting pattern and overall profile fit standard single-board computer carrier frames. The mobile-class Intel 945GM + ICH7 chipset provides processor support and integrated graphics for LVDS-connected displays. Peripheral connectivity includes 8 x USB 2.0 ports for external devices, while legacy equipment can connect through 4 serial ports handled by the southbridge. Networking is provided through 1 x 10/100 + 1 x 10/100/1000 Ethernet links, which support separated control and diagnostic networks. Storage can be expanded through one IDE channel and two SATA ports, and a Type III Mini-PCI socket accepts optional fieldbus or WLAN cards. An AC97 codec with SPDIF input and output supports audio functions for operator terminals, and sixteen GPIO lines allow simple machine-level signal exchange.
Two SoDIMM200 sockets accept up to 4 GB of system memory with DDR2-667 modules, providing enough capacity and bandwidth for soft PLC runtimes and local visualization tasks. The board operates from a regulated 5 V ±5% backplane supply, which allows direct use with common 24 V-to-5 V converters inside control cabinets. Its mechanical outline of 102 x 147 mm helps simplify enclosure layout and leaves space for heat spreaders on the opposite side. An 18-bit LVDS channel can drive compact TFT displays without external converters, and the 16 configurable GPIO lines can be mapped to interrupts for fast sensor response.
