Product Description:
The CB3050-0009 is a modular motherboard produced by Beckhoff within the CB Modular Motherboards series. Designed for embedded industrial PCs, the board forms the core computing layer inside machine controllers and operator panels. It supplies processor, memory, and field-level interfaces required for deterministic automation tasks, while supporting compact control hardware that combines logic, visualization, and communication functions on one board.
This model boots from a AWARD 6.10 BIOS, enabling legacy-free startup options suited to real-time operating systems. Processing is handled by a Celeron M 1.5 GHz CPU that balances low power draw with the integer performance expected in PLC runtime environments. The Intel 855GME + Intel ICH4 chipset integrates graphics, IDE channels, and high-speed buses so that additional controllers are unnecessary. Up to 2 GByte DDR-333 of system RAM can be installed in a single SO-DIMM200 slot, giving adequate workspace for visualization software and data logging. The board footprint of 102 x 147 mm allows installation in compact DIN-rail housings or behind touchscreen fronts. All logic receives its power from a single 5 VDC ±5% backplane rail, simplifying cabinet wiring and reducing conversion losses.
Network connectivity is provided through a dual-rate port supporting 10/100 + 10/100/1000 Base-T speeds; the physical interface is driven by Intel 82562 and 82541ER controllers for deterministic Ethernet and TCP services. Visual output is available through a DVI-I connector, and an 18/24-bit LVDS header supports direct connection to flat panels inside proprietary HMIs. Six downstream ports deliver USB 2.0 bandwidth, and the header pair supplies up to 6 x USB 2.0 with 500 mA per channel for barcode scanners or service sticks. Two IDE connectors handle legacy drives, while a Type III Mini-PCI slot accepts WLAN or fieldbus adapters. Touch interfaces that use 4-wire or 5-wire resistive technology can be read without additional converters.
