The CB1056-0001 is a modular industrial motherboard manufactured by Beckhoff within the CB Modular Motherboards series. Designed as the foundation of an embedded PC or control cabinet IPC, it hosts a plug-in CPU module and connects that processor to fieldbus adapters, local drives, and HMI panels used in automated plants. The board follows the ATX power scheme, fits inside 19-inch enclosures, and supports deterministic control loops required for motion, visualization, and data logging on the factory floor.
The physical outline measures 305 x 220 mm, giving the board room for passive heat sinks and wide-pitch connectors. Up to 16 GByte of RAM can be addressed, allowing large real-time databases or simultaneous virtual machines on the controller. Dual Ethernet controllers provide 2 x 10/100/1000Base-T links, so one port can isolate the machine network while the other connects to higher-level SCADA or cloud services. A front-panel stack of 14 x USB 2.0 receptacles supports sensor dongles, service keys, or vision cameras without external hubs. Power enters through an ATX + 2x2-pin 12V header, separating core and auxiliary rails for predictable startup sequencing. Additional features include six SATA ports, with two running at 6 Gb/s for solid-state drives, four serial channels for legacy devices, an AMI Aptio BIOS that supports headless boot, and an onboard Realtek ALC889 codec that routes audio diagnostics to panel speakers.
