Product Description:
The CB1051-0004 is a modular motherboard produced by Beckhoff for the CB Modular Motherboards series. Designed as a CPU carrier inside PC-based control platforms, this board accepts industrial processors and peripheral cards so that an automation controller can be assembled with standard components. When installed in a Beckhoff IPC or a custom panel PC, the board links fieldbus adapters, motion cards, and visualization hardware, forming the central computing layer in machine control, data acquisition, and real-time supervisory tasks.
It draws a typical 10 VA, which keeps board power consumption low and eases thermal design inside sealed cabinets. The platform is organized around the Intel 945GM + Intel ICH7 chipset, giving the operating system direct access to PCI, SATA, and legacy interfaces without external bridges. A socketed mPGA479M CPU location supports Intel Core and Celeron M processors, allowing performance scaling while keeping pin compatibility. Two DIMM240 slots accommodate up to 4 GByte of system RAM, and the controller accepts memory built with DDR2-667 devices so memory bandwidth stays matched to the front-side bus. Together, the chipset, socket, and memory path provide the deterministic response required for soft-PLC cycles and HMI rendering.
The mechanical outline follows the ATX standard, so the board fits common enclosures and uses an ATX 2×2-pin 12 V auxiliary feed from the power supply. Expansion is provided by three PCI slots, three PCIe x1 lanes, and one PCIe x16 connector for high-speed image or motion cards. Storage devices attach to four SATA ports, while legacy drives can still be connected through the 1 x PATA header. Four on-board UARTs expose dedicated serial links for scanners or drives. External peripherals connect via 8 x USB 2.0 receptacles, and each port can source up to 500 mA for devices such as touch screens or data keys without additional hubs.
