Product Description:
The CB1050-0004 is a modular motherboard from Beckhoff that belongs to the CB Modular Motherboards series and serves as the central platform for industrial IPC assemblies. By supplying standard PC interfaces on an automation-grade carrier, it lets machine builders integrate mainstream computing components into control cabinets while maintaining the determinism required for motion, vision, or data-logging tasks. Dual IDE channels connect rotating media or CompactFlash carriers, and four serial ports remain available for legacy CNC or weigh-scale devices.
Its footprint of 305 x 220 mm corresponds to the full-size industrial variant of the ATX format, so it can be mounted with conventional stand-offs in a 19-inch rack or cabinet shelf. An integrated chipset of Intel 855GME + Intel ICH4 provides the Northbridge and Southbridge functions, linking the graphics controller, PCI bus, IDE channels, and USB host controllers to the CPU. The processor is installed in a mPGA479M socket, allowing the use of low-power Intel Celeron M or Pentium M parts matched to the mobile 400 MHz front side bus. Up to 2 GByte of main memory can be addressed, supporting typical SCADA or HMI workloads without resorting to paging.
The memory subsystem relies on DDR-333 modules fitted into two DIMM184 slots, balancing latency and thermal load for fanless enclosures. Six rear-panel USB connectors rated at 6 x USB 2.0 can each source 500 mA, allowing barcode scanners or flash drives to be powered directly. Expansion cards are accommodated by 6 PCI slots for fieldbus adapters, frame grabbers, or additional I/O, while a 1 × AGP 4× interface accepts dedicated graphics if the integrated controller is bypassed. Primary power reaches the board through an ATX20 + 2x2-pin 12 V header, separating bulk 5 V rails from high-current 12 V drives.
