The C9900-H372 belongs to the C9 PC Accessories series from Beckhoff. It is supplied as a boot-and-maintenance medium for industrial automation computers, providing a portable way to start, image, or service Beckhoff Industrial or Embedded PCs in the field. By carrying the required boot files and diagnostic utilities in a sealed USB form factor, the tool supports rapid system recovery and operating-system updates when control hardware needs service.
Its boot image is delivered through a Bootable USB Stick that uses RAM Boot to load the operating environment without touching the local drive, which helps preserve existing data during backup or restore operations. The stick supports BIOS operation in both UEFI and Legacy modes, so it can start older IPCs as well as current models. A minimum host memory of 2 GB is required to run the Acronis 11.x imaging engine, and the environment presented to the user is the familiar Windows desktop. The Beckhoff Service Tool is maintained at version Bst 2.1.x.xx so its driver sets and scripts stay aligned with supported controllers. The accessory is intended for Industrial or Embedded PC platforms rather than general office computers.
Remote access is available through TightVNC, allowing image transfers or parameter checks when a local display is not available. Although host PCs need only a minimum interface of USB 2.0, the stick itself uses the higher USB 3.0 standard so data can move faster when compatible ports are available. Its nonvolatile storage capacity is 8 GB, leaving room for backups, log files, and customized driver folders alongside the core boot image.
