Product Description:
The C6930-1001 is a fanless DIN-rail industrial PC manufactured by Beckhoff as part of the C6 Industrial PC Units series. This model acts as a central automation node, combining Windows or TwinCAT runtime with fieldbus connectivity so that motion, logic, and HMI processes can run in a single enclosure on the machine. It replaces separate PLC and visualization hardware and is suited for small control cabinets where space and wiring access are limited.
The housing measures 90 x 235 x 121 mm, so it fits behind shallow cabinet doors without increasing mounting depth. It is supplied from a 24 VDC power net and draws control energy through a pluggable terminal. Two 2 x RJ45 Gigabit interfaces support machine networks, and cable runs can extend up to 100 m for distributed I/O layouts. The unit also provides 4 USB ports for service keys, diagnostic adapters, or external storage, and each socket can source 900 mA for peripheral power. A single RS232 serial port maintains compatibility with legacy sensors, while a DVI-I connector provides a digital-only signal path to panel displays to avoid analog conversion noise. The enclosure carries an IP20 rating, indicating finger-safe protection inside a shielded electrical cabinet.
The backplane includes 2 PCIe Mini Card slots for fieldbus masters or additional storage modules, allowing the controller to be adapted without enlarging the footprint. The unit supports the security chip fTPM 2.0, enabling hardware-anchored key storage for encrypted drives or secure boot. A standby UPS header can deliver 2.5 A, so buffer modules can keep the file system intact during power loss, while the incoming power plug is rated at 8 A to match high-current I/O backplanes. Conductors with cross-sections up to 1.5 mm² fit the spring-cage terminals for low-resistance wiring. The aluminum chassis weighs 2100 g, which supports panel installation without additional bracing.
