Product Description:
The C6925-0020 industrial PC is built by Beckhoff within the C6 Industrial PC Units series. This fanless controller is intended for DIN-rail mounting near actuators and sensors, where it executes PLC logic, axis coordination, and visualization tasks without requiring a separate cabinet computer. It interfaces directly with field devices over Ethernet and serial links, providing a deterministic platform for distributed motion, packaging stations, or process skids in automated plants. The unit's compact metal housing allows installation inside shallow control boxes that cannot accommodate a standard rack-mounted PC.
The PC draws system power through an eight-pole plug, and its supply circuit is rated at 16 A, so wiring must accommodate that continuous load. Internally, heat is removed by passive cooling, eliminating moving parts that could fail and keeping dust ingress low. Two RJ45 sockets support 10/100/1000BASE-T networking, and their separation permits machine-level daisy-chaining without a switch. Additional connectivity is provided by four USB 2.0 ports for service media, a 9-pin D-Sub fieldbus port that can host PROFIBUS or other serial adapters, and a dedicated RS-232 D-Sub-9 connector for legacy devices. The front panel also carries a DVI-I connector for local visualization. All terminations accept conductors up to 1.5 mm², and the enclosure meets IP20, so the PC must be installed in a protected cabinet. Continuous operation is allowed at temperatures up to 55 °C, and the electronics can withstand that limit without active ventilation.
The aluminum housing tolerates humid production areas and remains fully functional at 95% RH, provided condensation is avoided. Its compact board set follows the 3.5-inch motherboard format, which shortens trace lengths and reduces electromagnetic interference. During handling or transport, the device can withstand shocks of 5 G for 30 ms without data corruption. When mounted, it adds only 1.85 kg to the control panel load, helping maintain mass limits on cantilevered assemblies.
