The C6920-1091-0040 is an industrial PC produced by Beckhoff as part of the C6 Industrial PC Units series. It functions as a control computer for PLC tasks, motion coordination, and supervisory data exchange in automated equipment. The cabinet-mounted unit consolidates multiple software roles into a single node, helping reduce panel wiring and the number of separate components. Its compact format also allows the computer to operate alongside other control equipment inside a protected electrical cabinet.
The supply section accepts 24 VDC through terminals rated for 16 A. Eight connector poles are provided for the DC feed, and two internal cooling fans move air across the processor and storage media to maintain stable operating temperatures. The IP20 enclosure is intended for installation in protected indoor panels. Network connectivity is handled by two RJ45 sockets that support 10/100/1000BASE-T, allowing high-speed data exchange over EtherCAT or standard Ethernet networks. The four front-access USB 2.0 interfaces support removable media, service keyboards, and low-speed I/O adapters. A status relay can switch loads up to 0.5 A, allowing the controller to report system health or initiate an external shutdown sequence.
For field-level communication, a 9-pin D-Sub provides one RS-232 service connection. A second 9-pin D-Sub carries a fieldbus channel that can be assigned to PROFIBUS, CANopen, or another protocol selected for the application. Visual output is delivered through one DVI-I port, enabling a direct connection to compatible industrial monitors without a conversion adapter. The chassis has a shock resistance of 5 G for 30 ms, allowing it to tolerate short impacts during transport or machine operation. Continuous operation is permitted at an ambient humidity of up to 95% noncondensing, provided that panel ventilation prevents moisture accumulation. The spring-clamp terminals accept conductors with a maximum cross-sectional area of 1.5 mm², providing secure connections for the power supply and status outputs.
