Product Description:
The C6920-1085-0040 is an ultra-compact industrial PC produced by Beckhoff within the C6 Industrial PC Units series. Designed as a DIN-rail-mounted controller, it combines the CPU, memory, and fieldbus interfaces in a single housing so real-time software such as TwinCAT can run directly at the equipment layer. Its compact format reduces the control cabinet space required for PC-based automation. The unit can coordinate motion, data logging, visualization, and communication tasks in distributed production cells. Its rugged mechanical design also supports operation near drives, I/O terminals, and other industrial control equipment.
The housing has an IP20 protection rating, so the computer must be installed in a clean, enclosed control panel that prevents contact with live parts. Internal components can operate at ambient temperatures from 0 °C to +55 °C. The power input supports a 24 V control network with a permissible range from 22 VDC to 30 VDC, accommodating normal supply fluctuations in industrial cabinets. A locking eight-pole plug provides the electrical connection and can conduct up to 16 A for the connected loads. Two axial fans move air across the motherboard to control component temperatures during operation. Spring-loaded contacts help the chassis withstand mechanical shocks of up to 5 G for 30 ms during transportation or machine startup. These operating limits allow the computer to function reliably when installed with adequate airflow and the required panel protection.
Network connections are provided through two RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet ports, which can support fieldbus communication and plant-level data exchange. The front panel includes four USB 2.0 sockets for storage devices, printers, input peripherals, and service accessories. Legacy serial equipment can connect through one RS-232 D-Sub 9-pin port. A DVI-I video output supports a local monitor for machine visualization, diagnostics, or software configuration. The computer accepts up to 95% relative humidity when condensation is prevented, reducing the risk of moisture damage inside the housing. When powered down, the unit can be stored at temperatures from -25 °C to +65 °C. Proper cable routing around the front connections preserves access to the communication ports and helps maintain unobstructed cooling airflow inside the control cabinet.
