Product Description:
The C6920-1080-0040 is an industrial PC manufactured by Beckhoff and positioned within the C6 Industrial PC Units series. This compact controller hosts Windows or TwinCAT runtime environments and is intended to execute motion, logic, and visualization tasks on the factory floor. By combining PC-based computing with dedicated industrial connectors, the unit provides deterministic control for machines, lines, and test benches while fitting easily into a control cabinet.
The system draws power from a 24 VDC supply through an 8-pole connector that is rated for 16 A and accepts conductors up to 1.5 mm², allowing direct coupling to common DIN-rail power feeds. Two axial fans maintain airflow across the 3.5-inch motherboard, supporting internal temperatures during continuous operation. Dust protection is limited to the IP20 class, so the housing must be installed in a sealed cabinet when airborne particles are present. Network integration is handled by front-mounted 2 × RJ-45 sockets, and each port supports 10/100/1000BASE-T signaling for Gigabit links to supervisory PLCs or MES servers. For local data capture or peripheral connection, the controller offers 4 × USB 2.0 interfaces, and a single DVI-I connector drives a control-station monitor for real-time diagnostics and HMI graphics.
Field devices that lack Ethernet can still communicate through a D-Sub 9 connector wired to an RS-232 channel, making legacy sensor blocks or barcode readers accessible to the IPC task cycle. Mechanical resilience is supported by a shock limit of 5 G for pulses lasting up to 30 ms, so the enclosure tolerates typical machine-frame impacts without data loss. In addition, operation remains stable at ambient humidity levels as high as 95 %, which helps when the cabinet is located near washdown zones or cooling towers.
