Product Description:
The C6920-1024-0020 is a compact DIN-rail industrial PC manufactured by Beckhoff in the C6 Industrial PC Units series. It serves as the central controller in automated machines, combining processor, memory, and communication interfaces so programs for PLC logic, motion control, and HMI visualization all run on one platform. The housing is sized for control cabinets and allows the device to exchange deterministic data with drives, I/O terminals, and supervisory computers through native fieldbus and Ethernet links.
The enclosure meets a protection class of IP20, which limits use to clean switchgear compartments. A single 24 VDC supply feeds the electronics, and upstream circuit protection must not exceed 16 A. The main board follows the compact 3.5-inch format, leaving room for two integrated cooling fans that guide airflow across heat-generating components. Power wiring can use conductors up to 1.5 mm², allowing low-loss delivery of the continuous load current drawn by the CPU, SSD, and peripheral buses. These values establish the electrical and mechanical requirements for cabinet installation.
I/O access is concentrated on the front panel. Four USB connectors operate at the USB 2.0 data rate for service tools or removable storage. Two primary Ethernet ports are joined by an X102 jack that supports 10/100/1000BASE-T communication, enabling gigabit links to EtherCAT segments or plant networks. Legacy devices connect through a RS232 port that shares a 9-pin D-Sub form factor with the dedicated fieldbus connector used for optional CAN or PROFIBUS interfaces. Visual output is provided through a DVI-I socket, permitting either digital or analog monitors. The unit also uses an 8-pole power plug, requires a minimum connection voltage of 22 VDC, and has two Ethernet interfaces.
