Product Description:
The C6920-0000 is an industrial PC unit manufactured by Beckhoff within the C6 Industrial PC Units series. It serves as a compact central controller in automated equipment, executing PLC logic, motion sequences, and data exchange between machinery and higher-level systems. Its metal enclosure is suited for cabinet installation where reliable embedded computing is required.
The IPC draws its operating power from a 24 VDC supply that connects through an 8-pin plug and accepts conductors up to 1.5 mm². Internally, a 3.5 in motherboard provides the main processing platform, while two axial fans maintain airflow, so the housing requires 5 cm of clearance at the ventilation slots. Network connectivity is handled by 2 x RJ-45 sockets on the front panel, and the X102 interface supports 10/100/1000BASE-T speeds for EtherCAT or standard TCP/IP traffic. Rear access includes 4 x USB 2.0 connectors for service keyboards, data keys, or HMI dongles without additional hubs. For field-level integration, the unit offers one 9-pin Sub-D fieldbus port and a separate 9-pin RS-232 service channel. The enclosure carries an IP20 protection class suitable for clean control cabinets.
Display and diagnostic output use a 1 x DVI-I connector, so either digital or analog monitors can be connected during setup. The power header is rated for a peak connector current of 16 A, supporting short inrush demand while maintaining stable supply connection. During transport or installation, the aluminum housing withstands shocks up to 5 G, 30 ms, reducing the need for extra damping inside machine frames. Even with its steel carrier and heat sink, the overall mass is only 1.9 kg, which helps keep panel loading low when the PC is installed on a DIN rail. Adequate clearance around the vents preserves the intended cooling path.
