Product Description:
The C6915-1004 is a compact industrial PC produced by Beckhoff within the C6 Industrial PC Units series. It serves as a panel-mountable computing platform for motion control, data acquisition, and real-time fieldbus coordination in automated equipment. By combining CPU, storage, and communication interfaces in a slim enclosure, the unit replaces separate PLC and gateway hardware, reducing cabinet space while maintaining deterministic control performance that is typical in packaging, material-handling, and process lines.
Mechanical and environmental parameters define where the unit can be installed. A depth of 119 mm, a width of 48 mm, and a height of 164 mm allow placement on a DIN rail behind shallow cabinet doors. Its mass is only 1250 g, so additional rack reinforcement is not required. The housing carries a IP20 rating, indicating finger-safe openings and suitability for clean, indoor enclosures. Power reaches the board through an eight-pin connector that accepts conductors up to 1.5 mm² and is limited by an 8 A plug rating; this simplifies wiring to standard 24-volt control supplies. Four USB receptacles deliver 500 mA each for HMI panels or service devices, while the fTPM 2.0 chip inside secures boot keys and certificates against unauthorized cloning.
Electrical interfaces support common plant networks. The system operates from a nominal supply of 24 V DC, and its four USB ports—highlighted by the figure 4—are complemented by two switched Ethernet jacks, with the count of 2 enabling redundant topologies over cable runs up to 100 m. Vibration loads during installation are tolerated up to a shock resistance of 5 G, and reliable service continues in ambient humidity as high as 95 percent without condensation. Module backplane pins number eight, matching the front power connector, and the internal conductors maintain signal integrity along the full Ethernet length specification.
