Product Description:
The C6640-1013-0040 is an industrial PC assembled by Beckhoff for the C6 Industrial PC Units series. It operates as the central controller in automated machinery, combining deterministic motion control with user-interface tasks on a single platform. A cabinet-mountable housing and passive cooling allow integration into standard control panels, where the device links directly to fieldbus terminals, drives, and safety modules to coordinate sequencing, data logging, and visualization without separate hardware layers. By combining control and interface functions in one unit, it supports compact machine designs that keep computing hardware inside the main cabinet.
The enclosure measures 371 × 336 × 198 mm, giving the unit a defined footprint for rack or plate layouts, and its IP20 rating indicates touch-safe, tool-protected electronics suitable for clean cabinet interiors. Networking is handled through 2 Ethernet ports that support 100-meter CAT 5e cable runs, while 4 USB sockets rated at 900 mA each provide peripheral power. Visual outputs include 1 DisplayPort for high-resolution panels and two DVI ports for legacy monitors. Legacy I/O is also available through two PS/2 connectors for keyboard and mouse and one RS232 channel for serial instruments. This mix of display and peripheral connections allows the PC to work with both newer interface hardware and older supporting devices in the same installation.
The chassis tolerates shocks up to 5 G (30 ms), and internal electronics remain functional in ambient moisture up to 95 % non-condensing. CMOS settings are backed by a CR2032 lithium cell rated at 225 mAh and stabilized at 3.0 V, while the same battery supports time-of-day retention during power loss. Three analog audio jacks, counted as 3, enable line-in, line-out, and microphone connections for HMI sound or alarm annunciation. Battery-backed retention helps preserve stored system settings, and the audio connections allow local prompts or alerts to be routed directly from the controller.
