The C6640-1010-0030 is a cabinet-mountable industrial PC produced by Beckhoff within the C6 Industrial PC Units series. Designed as a central controller for motion, logic, and visualization tasks, the system combines standard PC architecture with real-time EtherCAT interfaces common to the manufacturer’s automation platform. By hosting TwinCAT or other soft-PLC software, the unit executes deterministic control code while providing the user interface and data logging functions expected in modern machine designs. It is intended for installation inside control enclosures, where it links fieldbus networks to higher-level plant systems.
The front I/O panel offers 4 USB interfaces that accept removable media, programming dongles, or touchscreen receivers. Each port can source up to 900 mA, so peripherals such as barcode scanners can draw power directly from the PC. Two independent Ethernet controllers provide 2 Gigabit LAN ports, allowing physical network separation between machine and office domains without extra switches. Video is handled by a discrete graphics output set comprising 1 DisplayPort and two DVI sockets, enabling mirrored or extended operator displays. Installation guidelines allow standard Category 6 cabling up to 100 m between the ports and external switches. Legacy devices can be connected through the built-in RS-232 interface and two PS/2 connectors. Internal ventilation components tolerate ambient relative humidity up to 95% without condensation, supporting stable operation in humid production areas without external climate control.
