Product Description:
The C6525-1021-0050 is a fanless industrial PC manufactured by Beckhoff for the C6 Industrial PC Units series. It mounts directly in control cabinets and provides deterministic computing power for PLC runtime, HMI services, and real-time motion tasks on the plant floor. By consolidating control, visualization, and data logging in one enclosure, the unit simplifies panel wiring and reduces communication delays between field networks and application software.
The front panel carries one DVI port for a local operator display and two Ethernet ports for cameras, drives, and I/O couplers. The network connections support 100/1000BASE-T, allowing them to communicate with Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet equipment. Both network interfaces draw from a 24-lane PCI Express root complex, with the primary connection using the PCIe bus and the auxiliary connection linked through the chipset. A keyed power plug accepts a 24 VDC nominal supply for connection to machine power rails. The 8-pole power connector accommodates power, ignition, uninterruptible power supply sensing, and ground connections on a single header. A stud-bolt ground provides a low-impedance path to the cabinet backplane and helps the installation meet electromagnetic compatibility requirements.
Network traffic is prioritized in hardware by the Intel i210 MAC-PHY, which supports deterministic fieldbus mapping through its PCI Express connection. Secondary network traffic is handled by the Intel i219 controller integrated into the platform controller hub. Legacy equipment can connect through one RS-232 port on a nine-pin D-sub serial connector. The motherboard also provides four USB 2.0 ports for service keys, data backups, touchscreen interfaces, and other compatible peripherals. An additional PCI Express edge connection supports optional bus couplers without occupying the external communication interfaces. Separate routing for DVI, USB, Ethernet, and serial signals reduces crosstalk when multiple channels are active. Serial shielding and the cabinet ground connection also help suppress common-mode electrical noise within the control enclosure.
