The C6525-0010 industrial PC is produced by Beckhoff within the C6 Industrial PC Units series. It serves as a compact controller that executes motion algorithms, HMI tasks, and data collection routines directly on the factory floor. The unit is intended for mounting close to the machine so that fieldbus, sensor, and drive links remain short, lowering latency and wiring effort. By integrating computing power, storage, and multiple field connections in a single enclosure, the device acts as the central node in distributed automation cells.
The C6525-0010 accepts a regulated supply of 24 VDC through an 8-pin terminal that accommodates conductors up to 1.5 mm². An inline fuse rated at 16 A protects the internal DC-DC converters against short-circuit or overload conditions. Cooling is completely passive, so the aluminum housing dissipates heat without fans while keeping the interior free of airborne contamination. Inside the cabinet, the electronics are guarded to IP20, whereas the externally exposed front panel achieves IP65, allowing installation on machine surfaces that are cleaned with low-pressure spray. Network traffic is handled by a Gigabit port that follows the 100/1000BASE-T Ethernet standard for high-speed controller-to-controller exchange.
The unit includes several interfaces for peripheral devices and data storage. A serial port uses RS232 for linking barcode scanners or older drives, and four front-mounted connectors use USB 2.0 for service tools or removable media. Application data and the operating system reside on a 2.5-inch SATA hard disk, which can be backed up by an external UPS that may supply up to 2.0 A at shutdown. The housing measures 330 mm wide, 275 mm high, and 82 mm deep yet weighs only 4.74 kg, so it can be fixed to machine frames without reinforcement while maintaining the required passive airflow paths.
