Product Description:
The C6340-0040 is an industrial PC unit manufactured by Beckhoff as part of the C6 Industrial PC Units series. Designed for centralized machine control in automated plants, it houses the CPU, storage, and all field interfaces in a single steel enclosure so the user can run PLC sequences, motion profiles, and visualization tasks close to the process. Two Ethernet controllers, three USB sockets, an RS232 port, and a DVI-I display channel are already integrated, letting the controller communicate with drives, sensors, and operator panels without extra expansion boards.
Physically, the enclosure measures 134 mm in width, 196 mm in height, and 226 mm in depth, so it fits shallow control cabinets while leaving clearance for cabling. At 4.5 kg, the chassis can be panel-mounted without heavy supports. The housing carries an IP20 protection class, meaning internal electronics are guarded against finger contact and settled dust but require installation inside a switchgear cabinet. Five PCI slots are available for motion cards, fieldbus adapters, or image-processing hardware, and access to these slots is provided from the top of the chassis for rapid field service. Passive cooling through the perforated side panels keeps the system within operating limits during continuous duty.
For system integration the PC is powered by a 24 VDC supply that can be switched off by an external safety relay. Networking is handled by 10/100 Base-T controllers presented on 2 Ethernet ports for standard or real-time traffic. Three USB receptacles following the USB 2.0 standard accept service peripherals, boot media, or data backup drives, and a 9-pin Sub-D implements an RS232 serial line for legacy instruments or UPS status polling. A single DVI-I connector drives digital or analog monitors so the operator interface can be mounted up to several meters away from the cabinet.
