Product Description:
Beckhoff’s C6340-0030 industrial computer is part of the C6 Industrial PC Units series. It functions as a cabinet-mounted control node for machinery, material-handling lines, and process workcells. The CBxx50 motherboard supports real-time operating systems and integrates fieldbus cards so the unit can execute motion logic, HMI services, and data acquisition in a single enclosure, reducing the need for separate controller hardware on the plant floor.
The housing measures 134 × 196 × 226 mm, allowing installation in shallow racks, and the chassis weight is only 4.5 kg, reducing the load on DIN rails or slide-in frames. A single 24 VDC supply enters through an 8-pole plug, simplifying the power harness while keeping the PC isolated from higher mains voltages. The enclosure meets IP20, so it must be mounted inside a protected cabinet but still permits convection airflow around the boards. For networking, two independent 2 × 10/100Base-T RJ-45 ports provide redundant links to PLCs, vision systems, or supervisory databases without requiring an external switch. Additional connectivity includes a 9-pin Sub-D RS232 port on COM2, a DVI-I output for industrial monitors, and a 2.5-inch hard disk that fits shock-mounted carriers inside the case. This mix of interfaces supports networked control, local display output, and serial communication with existing devices from the same enclosure.
System expansion is handled by 5 PCI slots that accept motion, fieldbus, or special I/O cards, and removable panels give access without disturbing wiring. Front access also exposes 3 USB 2.0 ports for service keys or wireless adapters while maintaining cabinet integrity. The aluminum frame withstands shocks of 5 G for 30 ms, so the PC remains operational on gantry or mobile platforms, and conformal coatings allow operation up to 95% non-condensing humidity in washdown or tropical environments.
