Product Description:
The C6340-0020 is an industrial PC built by Beckhoff for the C6 Industrial PC Units series. It serves as a compact control platform that executes PLC logic, motion tasks, and visualization inside machine enclosures where a Windows-based controller is preferred over traditional embedded hardware. The housing follows a book-style format that can be mounted in a cabinet alongside other DIN-rail devices, allowing quick integration into existing automation panels.
The enclosure stands 196 mm high, spans 134 mm in width, and reaches a depth of 226 mm; these dimensions enable dense installation without obstructing airflow between neighboring components. A mass of 4.5 kg keeps the unit manageable during installation while providing a rigid chassis for environments subject to vibration. Its IP20 protection rating limits installation to clean, dry control cabinets but allows convenient access to internal cards and drives. One RS-232 serial interface supports legacy devices, and the DVI-I video port connects to digital or analog operator panels without external converters.
The PC includes three USB 2.0 connectors for keyboards, storage devices, or touchscreens. It also has two 10/100Base-T Ethernet ports, allowing it to use separate machine and plant networks while supporting TwinCAT or other soft-PLC runtimes. A nominal input of 24 VDC feeds the onboard power supply, which supports a maximum draw of 150 W when hard disks, PCI cards, and fieldbus modules are fully populated. A wire cross-section of 1.5 mm² is recommended for field power leads, and the five-pole supply plug is compatible with standard Beckhoff power distribution strips. The connector has a keyed layout that helps prevent reverse polarity during maintenance. An internal 16 A fuse protects downstream circuitry against overcurrent faults.
