Product Description:
The C6330-0000 industrial computer is produced by Beckhoff within the C6 Industrial PC Units series. As a compact control platform, the unit hosts the automation runtime that coordinates motion, logic, and visualization tasks on the machine level. It combines PC-based processing with field interfaces so it can replace separate PLC, controller, and HMI hardware in distributed manufacturing cells.
Measuring 107 × 196 × 226 mm, the chassis fits into shallow control cabinets and is powered directly from a 24 V DC source, eliminating the need for an internal AC supply. The motherboard uses the Socket 370 format and accepts up to 512 MB of SDRAM; the factory configuration installs 128 MB SDRAM so the remaining slot is open for later upgrades. A separate graphics controller contributes 2 MB of video memory, which is adequate for the panel resolutions supported by the DVI output. Three backplane slots accommodate CompactPCI modules, and one of them is available as a free PCI slot with a maximum card length of 190 mm, allowing fieldbus or motion cards to be added without exceeding the enclosure depth. Mass storage is provided by a 20 GB rotating hard drive that connects over the IDE bus.
Networking and device connectivity are provided by a single 10/100 Base-T port, 2 USB ports, and 2 RS-232 ports. The DVI/USB link intended for a Beckhoff Control Panel permits a detached touch screen to be installed without additional adapters, and the integrated Slim Line IDE CD-ROM enables software loading or image recovery on the machine. The open PCI position can accept fieldbus or additional Ethernet adapters so that motion amplifiers and safety relays communicate directly with the CPU. These interface options allow the PC to coordinate sensors, drives, and visualization hardware within plant-floor automation cells.
