The C6240-1052-0040 is an industrial PC manufactured by Beckhoff within the C6 Industrial PC Units series. This rack-mountable controller is intended for machine control and data acquisition in automated plants. It also provides the real-time computation and field interfaces needed for motion coordination and other demanding control tasks.
The steel housing is 430 mm wide, 170 mm high, and 274 mm deep, allowing installation in standard 19-inch cabinets while leaving space for airflow. Networking is handled through two Ethernet ports with RJ-45 sockets that operate at the gigabit-capable 10/100/1000BASE-T rate for high-speed communication with PLCs and supervisory systems. The front panel has four USB ports with Type-A connectors for service keyboards, flash drives, or vision cameras. Additional field connectivity includes two DVI-D outputs, two PS/2 connectors for legacy input devices, and one RS-232 serial port for point-to-point communication. Internally, the backplane offers seven core slots, allowing expansion cards to be installed without external hubs. Power is delivered through a 24 V terminal block with five power contacts. Control wiring connects at terminals with 5 mm contact spacing, and the minimum supported wire cross-section is 1.5 mm² to provide secure clamping and adequate current capacity.
