Product Description:
The C6240-1044-0030 is a control cabinet industrial PC produced by Beckhoff and included in the C6 Industrial PC Units series. As a centralized computing node, it hosts motion, logic, and visualization tasks inside automated machinery, allowing one platform to manage control and operator-facing functions at the same time. It replaces stand-alone controllers with a single cabinet-mounted system that interfaces with fieldbuses and supervisory networks for coordinated data exchange across the machine.
Its computing core follows a 7-Slot ATX architecture, providing multiple expansion positions for dedicated interface cards. This arrangement allows the unit to accept add-on hardware for communication, control, or other machine-specific functions. The system board designated CBxx51 supports this chassis and sets the chipset and memory layout. With external measurements of 430 x 170 x 274 mm, the housing fits standard 19-inch control enclosures while still allowing airflow around the internal fans. Network connectivity is delivered through a single 1 x RJ45 LAN interface that brings the PC onto plant Ethernet segments. The enclosure carries an IP20 protection class, so it is intended for dust-shielded cabinets rather than open-machine mounting. Shock survival is rated at 5 G for 30 ms, and the chassis tolerates sinusoidal vibration of 0.035 mm at 10–58 Hz and 0.5 G between 58–500 Hz. A rear-panel LPT1 parallel connector remains available for legacy printers or I/O modules.
At 12.3 kg, the unit can be installed on DIN rails or tray slides without reinforcing the cabinet structure. Four front-mounted USB ports, shown as 4, accommodate memory sticks or human-machine interface devices during setup. Two isolated serial channels listed as 2 x RS232 let the PC communicate with barcode readers, weigh scales, or older drives that still rely on asynchronous protocols. A 1 x VGA connector supplies analog video to maintenance monitors so that diagnostic information remains accessible even when high-resolution digital displays are not supported.
