Product Description:
The C6240-1025 industrial PC is produced by Beckhoff within the C6 Industrial PC Units series. It serves as a cabinet-mounted controller that runs real-time operating systems, executes PLC code, and hosts HMI software for automated machinery. By combining processing power, fieldbus communication, and storage in one enclosure, the unit replaces separate controller racks and simplifies the integration of motion, logic, and data-logging tasks across manufacturing or process lines.
The housing has a depth of 274 mm, a width of 430 mm, and a height of 170 mm, allowing installation on standard 19-inch shelves or within control cabinets without excessive protrusion. The steel housing weighs 12.3 kg, so its supporting rails or slide trays must accommodate that load. The IP20 protection rating limits use to dry, filtered enclosures, while ventilation slots help maintain acceptable component temperatures. During transport or seismic events, the chassis withstands 5 G of shock for 30 ms, and operation is permitted in ambient humidity up to 95% without condensation. Five-pin power connectors accept conductors as small as 1.5 mm², and internal surge suppression protects the supply rails.
On the signal side, the PC offers a Gigabit network interface that follows the 10/100/1000BASE-T standard and is available through two independent RJ45 ports for redundant or segmented LAN layouts. The four front-mounted USB ports allow keyboards, removable media, or barcode scanners to be connected without auxiliary hubs. Visual output is handled by two DVI outputs for legacy monitors and one DisplayPort output for higher-resolution panels, enabling simultaneous multiscreen HMI stations. An RS-232 serial header supports compatible maintenance tools. Dual isolated Ethernet controllers support EtherCAT or standard TCP/IP traffic between the computer and connected drives, I/O blocks, or supervisory servers.
