Product Description:
The C6240-1024 0010 industrial PC is produced by Beckhoff and belongs to the C6 Industrial PC Units series. Designed as a cabinet-mounted controller, the unit combines a standard ATX motherboard with industrial connectors so it can host real-time operating systems, PLC runtimes, and HMI software that coordinate motion, process, and data acquisition tasks on automated lines. Its steel housing provides a compact control center that replaces multiple separate modules in machine-level automation.
Internally, a 7-slot card cage surrounds the ATX board, allowing expansion cards such as motion controllers or fieldbus interfaces to be mounted without blocking airflow. Network traffic is handled through a front-mounted RJ-45 LAN connector that links the PC to plant Ethernet segments. The motherboard follows the ATX format, allowing compatibility with standard computer hardware. Overall depth is 274 mm, the height is 170 mm, and the enclosure carries the IP20 protection class, so it is intended for installation inside a closed control cabinet. Four USB receptacles provide 4 ports for removable storage, service keyboards, or touch screens. Contact spacing of 5 mm on the terminal strip helps maintain dielectric clearances between the 24 V power conductors.
Two serial interfaces provide 2 x RS-232 channels for legacy drives or barcode scanners, while the PS/2 header exposes two ports for compact keyboards and mice. The audio section offers three jacks that can route system sounds or alarm tones to external speakers. Power reaches the PC through a CAGE CLAMP block with five contacts, and the wiring must use conductors of at least 1.5 mm² or AWG 16 to meet the current rating. With a width of 430 mm, the housing aligns with 19-inch rack dimensions and leaves clearance for ventilation on either side.
