Product Description:
The C6140 is an industrial control PC produced by Beckhoff and supplied under the C6 Industrial PC Units series. Configured for cabinet installation, the unit combines a multicore processor platform with modular I/O interfaces so that it can act as the central PLC, HMI, and data collection node for automated equipment. By consolidating real-time control, motion coordination, and supervisory tasks in one enclosure, the computer reduces wiring and simplifies integration with EtherCAT drives, field sensors, and enterprise networks across packaging, assembly, and process lines.
Input power is routed through a five-pin connector rated for 250 V, enabling the system to run directly from standard industrial mains. Once energized, the internal supply delivers 13 A on the +12 V rail and 25 A on the +5 V rail; these current ratings support high-speed storage devices, fan assemblies, and multiple PCIe cards without voltage sag. Overall power draw remains below 100 W, allowing dense cabinet layouts without excessive thermal load. The housing meets the IP20 protection class, so it must be installed in a closed panel but provides protection against accidental contact with internal components. The power connection has contact spacing of 5 mm and requires a minimum conductor cross section of 1.5 mm² to maintain proper creepage distance and minimize terminal heating.
The steel chassis weighs 14 kg and measures 383 mm wide, 362 mm high, and 265 mm deep, allowing it to fit within compatible 19-inch cabinet arrangements while leaving clearance for ventilation ducting. During transport, the assembly tolerates shocks up to 5 G for 30 ms without component displacement, and operation is permitted at humidity levels up to 95%, provided condensation is avoided. Connector pins carry a continuous current of 12 A, while the power connection maintains electrical separation between protective earth and the supply lines.
